AbhiOnline Story
The Idea.
It was a simple questioning thought. What if I started a busines where I sold only the products I tested myself? And that was it. I had to test it.
The Test.
Before the pandemic hit, I started a small business that successfully proved to me that this concept works.
I would buy three samples each of carefully curated products from Udaan, and test them over a span of two weeks or more. Powerbanks I tested for a month minimum. The tests were me, family, and friends using the products everyday with a weekly check in.
Verifying product claims was also a priority. If all three samples worked and the claims turned out to be relatively accurate, I would sell that product.
The Result.
I had only 2 returns in the span of one year. In which I fulfilled more than 300 orders. And had a customer list of 100+. Pretty good numbers for 2019 with products listed only on Facebook Marketplace, and Olx since Amazon's cut was ridiculous.
Wired Earphones, Bluetooth Neckbands, Bluetooth Speakers, and Powerbanks were my bestsellers.
The New Plan.
While the concept is proven. It will not work at scale if I do everything myself. So the plan with AbhiOnline.store is simple. Do the same as before, while building a brand and business that is profitable enough to support a team of testers.
To build the brand I will journal the journey on social media to slowly build up my credibility. Consistent and scheduled content has proven to be far superior to paid ads. I have enough experience in content creation to know how to start and change as I go.
The New Start.
To start, I have decided to pick one hero product that is both easy to get into but also has enough potential to grow big.
So "Stuff On T-shirts" is born. It is exactly what it sounds like. I will print "Stuff" On T-shirts, which can be unique art by independent artists or something fun and quirky I design myself. I will be selling these both online and offline.
The Goal.
I want to create an e-commerce platform that can be an option for those who are as tired of the giants and their greedy practices as me. A place where you can pick something according to your needs and be confident that the product you bought does what you expected it to do.
The Promise.
I make this promise to myself and my customers. I will keep it straight forward, simple and honest. I will never try to sell anyone something without giving them all the data needed to make an educated purchase decision.
The Ask.
Just follow my journey. And offer your support in any way of your choosing. Also, buy something if you like.
